Listen to: 5 Tips To Get Started on Leading Fun, Intimate and Transformational Retreats
ARTICLE
I absolutely love to lead small, intimate retreats in beautiful environments. You probably have seen my pictures over the years of my cceanside, creative business retreats and masterminds. I know that you too have a dream of leading fun, creative, and transformational retreats!
Now is the time. Everyone is looking for smaller group programs where they can receive more personal attention. They are really tired of giant events with a lot of hoopla, but little real value.
It’s easier than you think to get started.
This year you can host a small simple retreat in your hometown in a pretty, inspiring space, and then once you get the design and details down, you can easily move into leading a retreat with travel to a beautiful location.
I want to share with you my top five tips to help you say yes to leading a retreat this year!
Tip #1: Beautiful environments create shifts.
Being in a creative space, near the ocean, in the mountains, or in a dynamic urban environment, gets the energy moving and changes our perspective, our thoughts, our possibility thinking. Spend a day scouting around and visiting cool, creative spaces to see what’s available – the botanical gardens, co-working spaces, retreat centers, or event bed and breakfast lodgings with event spaces are a few options. Let the space inspire you and your clients!
Tip #2: Small and intimate settings build trust for the next step to work with you.
Small retreats allow people to work with you, and get to know and trust you so they can decide if they want to continue working with you. They might not otherwise ever take that step without an easy way to work with you so closely.
Tip #3: There are those in your tribe who already want this!
There probably already is a small group of your clients, past clients, fans, and people in your community who would love to spend a couple of days with you and be able to be in your energy, around your thinking, creativity and experience. Ask around and invite them into a conversation about the possibility of a retreat.
Tip #4: Retreats are easier than workshops.
They are so much less work than lining up hours of training! Creating visions, opening up clarity, discovering a deep confidence and conviction requires as much down time and inner reflection work as it does outer exercises and coaching. Allow the space, the community, and the intention to open your clients up to their power. Then add on the action plans.
Tip #5: Make great money doing what you love where you love.
When you lead a creative retreat in a beautiful space, your clients want to come and are happy to pay you for the transformational experience. You get paid leading a retreat in a place you love… like how I get a week at the beach each time I hold a retreat. You can do this too. And once they work with you at the intimate level – they are sure to want more!
