Creating Your Cornerstone Content

Sharing exciting, engaging content is one of the easiest and most impactful ways to increase your visibility, build credibility, and attract clients and opportunities to you.

Content marketing helps educate, inspire, motivate, enchant, and invite your Soul Tribe. It’s how you get them engaged, be curious, and want to learn more about your solutions and work.

Your purpose is to get people SO curious about everything that you’re doing that simply HAVE to take the next step!

But how do you know what type of content to create to get the results you want?

Creating your signature cornerstone content doesn’t have to be difficult – you just have to know where to start. I fully believe that you are already designed to flourish, you just need to release the possibilities!

With all your marketing strategies you want to focus on: simplify and amplify. You want to increase your visibility without feeling like you’ve got to hustle 24-7.

It’s always great to start with a plan that helps you set goals, support your brand, and reinforce your image – but that doesn’t mean EVERYTHING has to be perfectly planned out. Leave room for the fun and spontaneity that truly aligns with your beautiful brilliance.

Here are 5 simple steps to follow as you map out your cornerstone content strategy:

  1. Pick Your Platforms

    You don’t need to broadcast your content on EVERY platform. Pick one or two social media channels and master them. Learn how to use them, keep up with the changes, and really make a recognizable name for yourself and your brand.

  2. Issue the Invitation

    You’ve got to tell your audience what you want them to do. Maybe you want them to like the post. Maybe you want them to leave a comment to boost your engagement. Maybe you have a great freebie that you don’t want them to miss. Whatever your goal, you should give a call to action at the end of each post that gives your followers clear, easy-to-follow instructions for how to get more of your creative, engaging content.

  3. Maximize Your Content

    Your time is valuable, and you can’t dedicate every minute to content creation! I look for opportunities to create once and reuse a great piece of content at least 3-5 different ways! Recycle, reuse, and repurpose your content as often as possible. Turn an article into a video, a blog post into an infographic, or a podcast into a webinar. It saves tons of time, and creative repetition improves the odds that your audience will remember your message.

  4. Establish Your Cornerstone Content

    Brainstorm 3-5 topics that really matter to you – the things you REALLY want your followers to know. As you refine these broad topics and define the sub-messages for each one, these become your go-to topics. The ones you always come back to, even when you’re being spontaneous.

    This creates a cohesive theme that supports your brand’s main messaging. Over time people learn who you are, what you stand for and what solutions they can count on you for. Choose the topics that meet at the intersection of things you’re passionate about, and things your soul tribe is interested in.

  5. Find Your Voice

    What is yours to say? Your best content will express your passion and creative expression. Practice using your unique voice to share your perspectives, beliefs and approach to their struggles and dreams. This is how you step into being seen as a leader in your market.
