Blessing for the Interim Time

One of my favorite books, is called “To Bless This Space Between Us” by John O’Donohue. He is such an extraordinary writer… such beauty when he describes our presence.

In his book, he has blessings for all types of life celebrations and passages. I brought in his blessings for New Year (shout out to my friend Beverly – we created a magical new year’s ritual by the waterfall at the yoga & meditation retreat using this blessing), new homes, gathering of women at retreats and more. It sets the sacred tone in such a beautiful way.

I shared this blessing on one of the Better Together calls last week. It so describes this place we are in right now… the in between, the interim.

I find it soothing to be able to name this unusual place we find ourselves in – our usual familiar rhythms have fallen away and the future isn’t clear yet. I hope you find it soothing to your soul as well.

Blessing for: The Interim Time

By John O’Donohue

When near the end of day, life has drained
Out of light, and it is too soon
For the mind of night to have darkened things,

No place looks like itself, loss of outline
Makes everything look strangely in-between,
Unsure of what has been, or what might come.

In this wan light, even trees seem groundless.
In a while it will be night, but nothing
Here seems to believe the relief of darkness.

You are in this time of the interim
Where everything seems withheld.

The path you took to get here has washed out;
The way forward is still concealed from you.

The old is not old enough to have died away;
The new is still too young to be born.”

You cannot lay claim to anything;
In this place of dusk,
Your eyes are blurred;
And there is no mirror.

Everyone else has lost sight of your heart
And you can see nowhere to put your trust;
You know you have to make your own way through.

As far as you can, hold your confidence.
Do not allow confusion to squander
This call which is loosening
Your roots in false ground,
That you might come free
From all you have outgrown.

What is being transfigured here in your mind,
And it is difficult and slow to become new.
The more faithfully you can endure here,
The more refined your heart will become
For your arrival in the new dawn.

Better Together – Daily Connection and Inspiration Call

In a time where we need to be isolating, when we don’t know what the future holds for ourselves and our loved ones and our livelihoods, it’s easy to want to hide and disconnect even further. It’s natural to want to panic and catastrophize the future.

There is another way.

Come join this growing group for intimate conversation and connection about how we BE during these unsettling and unknown times.

We are meeting each weekday at 9 a.m. Eastern to gather us in community for conversation, connection and claiming our creative power.

Each call is unique and different. It’s a safe place as a conscious entrepreneur to…

  • Be together as we learn how to “dance on a moving surf board” each and every day with moment to moment fluctuations in our energy, focus and emotions.
  • Use all those healing techniques we’ve been learning for years to help be more centered and grounded.
  • Access a deeper wisdom that we can lean into during a time when “business as usual” isn’t working.
  • Receive encouragement that you indeed are the one who needs to rise up in your community and assume leadership with your unique beautiful brilliance.
  • Talk about what to do in your business in this time.

These calls are free and will continue each weekday as long as they feel useful.

Here is the link to sign up – just sign up one time to receive the link that you can use each day.

Please be well, be safe, & do your part by physically distancing! {Hugs}
